Fresh & Easy is a grocery stores' chain in the United States. It belongs to the parent company Tesco, and is headquartered in El Segundo, California, in the United States. We will take a look at employment opportunities at Fresh & Easy warehouses here.
Company History –
Fresh and Easy belongs to the British multinational grocery retailer Tesco. In the year 2006, Tesco decided that it will move into United States by opening a grocery stores' chain. In the year 2007, the U.S headquarters of Tesco were opened in El Segundo, California. Owing to losses, the company had to close several stores in the years following the opening. As of today, Tesco runs 220 stores and employs more than 50,000 people.
Jobs at Fresh & Easy warehouses –
Selector: As a selector, your job is the selection of merchandise from designated slots, stacking of cases on pallets after labeling of cases. You will write store number on pallets and transport them for delivery to retail stores. You will be operating pallet jack, battery hoist and double walkie-rider.
Stocker: As a stocker, your duty is to receive, store as well as verify the inventory in the warehouse. You will count, pack and unpack merchandise. You will mark the items in stock using verification tags and check the items for any kind of defects or problems.
Fresh & Easy has a warehouse in Riverside County, and is planning to open a distribution center in Phoenix as well.

Employment at Fresh and Easy could be a positive experience for college students. The employee satisfaction is not bad, although the company was almost running out of business at the end of the year 2012. The pay is not very high for warehouse jobs ($20k to $30k annually) though the benefits are OK and important benefits like healthcare are covered.
